    NHA TRANG

Pic. 1- A wooden statue in a hotel in Nha Trang.  Many fine details are carved into the statue.
Pic.2 – On the body of this beautiful wooden mirror stand I can see many tiny details that told some folksy stories.
Pic. 3 and 4 – The old locomotive of the train that took me from Đà Nẵng to Nha Trang.
Pic. 5 – Tri Nguyên Aquarium.  Although it cannot be compared to many magnificient American aquariums, this one has a nice collection of marine creatures.
Pics 6 – A village near Hòn Tằm of Nha Trang
    P
ic. 7 – You can see water jets flying around Hòn Tằm Island.
Pic. 8 – Part of Hòn Tằm Nha Trang.  I tried to capture the azure blue color of the ocean.  Hòn Tằm shore is full of rocks, and it is a little too slippery to walk on these rocks to get in water.  The water is a little too calm.  I like to have little more waves so it is more fun to play in the water.
Pic. 9 – Natural fish tank.  Local fishermen make simple fish tanks with drums and fish net to raise fish in the ocean water.
Pic. 10 – Foreigner speed boat mixes with local boats.  There are two bamboe baskets to be used as boats.  Each passenger is asked to pay around 70 cents for about 15 minutes ride.
Pic.11 – Man pulled ferry.  In the back is the restaurant where we have all 7 seafood courses for lunch.  Dessert is seved with dragon fruit, longan, drink is fresh coconut juice.  It was breezy, the sky is as blue as topaz, the water is deeper blue.  At some spots the ocean bottom can be seen white.
Pic. 12. – What look likes a hut in the back of the picture is where night guard stay to watch the farm beneath the hut.  The farm is where to raise fish or shrimp to support local people.
Pic. 13 – View from the restaurant.
Pic. 14 – A catenary pole stands in the middle of the ocean.  I was thinking of how people had to build cofferdam and pump water to build its foundation.
Pic. 15 to 20 – Around Tri Nguyen Aquarium, there is another development currently under construction.
