I am contemplating to give up writing in English. I will just keep the blog to read and comment in English but to write in Vietnamese only. I will never master the language.
Please write in English from time to time. Your English is very readable. Way more readable than my Vietnamese (considering I don’t know how to write or read any). Maybe if you find the energy you could post mini-lessons for English-only speakers to help us learn a word or phrase or two of your language? But I support you in what you feel is right for you. I do look forward to your photos. They’re the Universal language.

Whatever works for you I wish you the best but you should continue. I had the same problem as well writing in English. But I was stuck with it and as you can see I’m okay now
at times I had trouble explaining my thoughts in english too…
Once I was reading a newspaper on the subway, about something very tragical… and the word “căm phẫn” popped in my head – I still don’t know how to describe the word (with the momentary feeling) in english
vietnamese words are just very beautiful, too bad I can only remember the conversational terms, all the poetic ones in me were long gone…:(
For some reason that really struck me. I enjoy your writings, I love when you talk about the things you’ve seen. Maybe not so much to see in the cold. Perhaps you could write occasionally in English to catch me up. And then in summer do some extra?
Of course, you’re space, and you should do what makes you feel comfortable. But, I would be said if you never wrote in English again.

Hi. I don’t think any of us will ever master the English language. I really do enjoy reading your post in both Vietnamese and English. When you do translate passages or your thoughts, I can finally understand what you write in both language. My Vietnamese and English are both bad too. I have always rely on your writing to help me learn and understand both languages all these time. Thank you for writing in both Vietnamese and English in the pass. I will respect your decision whatever you choose it to be.
The English in your comment to AW is flawless.
NO!!!
please do keep writing in english. i can’t really read vietnamese! i think you need to give yourself more credit. i really enjoy your writing and think you write beautifully well. your writing also tends to contain really creative and unique descriptions and imagery that make me re-think how i view the world.
plus, as a writer, practice always makes perfect! please don’t give up.
Every morning, I logged in Xanga to see your expression, especially in English. I read your blog not to see what you’re doing but to see how you are thinking each day. I see someone “mo mong”, “lang man” and free spirit woman that writes whatever on her thoughts at the time. I admire those characters and can relate to them. Please keep on writing….in English. From someone afar….
I’ll never master the language either. I know I’m not around much, but I’d hate to lose the ability to communicate with you. I’ve never thought anything negative about your communication in English. I think you come across very well – the words may not always be formally perfect, but I feel like you’re a real person… not like some blogs where you get no sense of who the real human is on the other side of the internet. I’ve always truly enjoyed interacting with you. I hope you don’t abandon writing in English altogether.
never say never do wat’s best for you
Having no Vietnamese, I have to say, I’d miss your english postings as well. Have mercy. . .-
I really enjoy your writings in English. I only wish I could read Vietnamese.
..but i was born here and haven’t master english. you write well enough …too hard on yourself.
i’ll pretend to understand vietnamese and hope my comments makes sense.
@pmanmeister - Thanks. Your answers always made sense as if you could understand the Vietnamese post.
