  • I am asked what kind of work I do with bridges.  Here is just a fragment of my work. These are pictures of bridge piers from the South of New Jersey near Atlantic City.  Water runs in and out with the tide years after years corrode the concrete piers.  Sometimes the piers are corroded not only because of the water velocity but also the chemical content in the water such as salt, or phosphur or sulfur in sewage. (The same way as acidity eats gradually the enamel of our teeth).  I am in charge of these repairs from begin such as design concept, layouts, specs until the end such as managing contractors to actually carry out the physical works.  I am also involved in other phases of the work such as having the contract out for bid, provide technical information to the contractor, or making decision of construction methods.  I also manage budget, make sure my work gets funded…

Bridges over the waterway, bridge machinery, bridges over streets or highways also are in my scope.  I make sure the work to be done with code compliance.

Picture of the victorian house near the bridge has nothing with my work.  I post it just because it looks nice.  The good look of a house with historic features.  I am old so I like things (and people) who are older than I am. So I can feel young and younger.
