You probably still remember a while ago I had an entry about a Vietnamese movie Journey From the Fall or Vượt Sóng. The entry was a translation from Vietnamese to English the summary of the movie. On March 23, the movie is going to be shown at TheImaginAsian in New York. Here is the link, if you are interested. http://www.theimaginasian.com/comingsoon/index.php. Follow the link you can find its trailer too. Some of you have searched the song Dung Xa Em Dem Nay of Duc Huy, the song writer, and stumble to my Xanga. So here is a treat for you. You can find the lyrics and its sing-able English version below.
Đừng Xa Em Đêm Nay – Đức Huy
Singer: Thảo My
Đừng xa em, đừng xa em đêm nay.DON’T LEAVE ME TONIGHT (translated from Vietnamese lyrics)
Don’t leave me tonight when the moon passes the trees
Don’t leave me tonight, night’s too long
In my lonely arms, night is dark and forlorn
My heart thirsts for your love
Don’t leave me tonight, please say that you will stay
Don’t leave me alone in this place
Hold me in your arms so I know you need me
And please say you still love meRepeat
A tear drop falls into darkness
When I lay, listen to darkness, listen in darkness
Hear the beats of my heart lull me my good sleep
My life is deserted, you come as a candle
In darkness, candle in darkness brightens up my heart
All bitterness fell asleep
Don’t leave me tonight, my street fell asleep
Don’t leave me tonight, night’s so long
Please love me tonight, to forget tomorrow
Don’t leave me. Don’t leave me tonight

the movie looks interesting.
I just saw a brief ad for that at the International Asian American Film Festival (in SF and San Jose) today.
Waiting to see it …
I have been following the progress of Vượt Sóng since I saw something about it being made a year ago and I have its web page bookmarked. I would like very much to see but I shall have to wait until a DVD because it will not likely show at any theater within a reasonable distance of me and my work schedule is such that I cannot take three days off to go see it.

I like most of Duc Huy’s songs. This song in particular always remind of a time long ago when I was 16 and met…
